Our company wanted  to allow the customer  to pick a variety of gears we use for repair from our shop inventory that may be hard to locate and help repair your unit.
A=TIGHT GEAR HOLE FITS SNUG ON SHAFT
B=LOOSE GEAR HOLE FITS LOOSE TO SPIN FREE ON SHAFT
Reduction gears means two gears sizes on one gear
 TIP:  Metal gears are harder to work with, then plastic geasr and most holiday units use no metal gears.
